Conference teacher and alum Martín Prechtel offers a lively and profound exploration of grief and praise—which in his Tzutujil Mayan culture are different words for the same thing. He offers advice on how to achieve ‘true grief’ and ‘true praise,’ through awareness of beauty and mortality.
This 1997 recording is a little kaleidoscope to look through, to see the ever shifting, entwining, poking down into the dark beautiful soil ROOTS of Martín’s recently published book:
“The Smell of Rain on Dust: Grief and Praise”
